Garth is CEO of an NZ medtech company called The Insides Company.

Garth leads The Insides Company’s mission to deliver at global scale, a new category of medical devices for patients suffering from a catastrophic condition called severe intestinal failure.

Severe intestinal failure occurs when a patient’s intestines are no longer able to provide the nutrition needed to sustain life. This can occur as a result of intestinal diseases including bowel cancer, other cancers affecting the gut, other abdominal trauma, and/or surgical complications.

For the greater majority of people around the world, if severe intestinal failure strikes then their chances of survival are low, and palliative care is often the only treatment option.

The Insides Company’s platform of medical devices are the first clinical nutrition solution in world history that can scale globally across all countries, all sectors of society, and environmental living conditions. The devices are in use across New Zealand.

Garth has held CEO positions in the medical device sector for the last 25 years, bringing new breakthrough therapies to the world. In 2022 Garth was awarded Top 50 Healthcare Technology CEO by the Health Technology Report. Also in 2022, Garth was awarded the Ray Thompson award, as an exemplar of high integrity, proactivity and entrepreneurial energy.
