Dr Gavin Harris

I am a UK trained Anatomical Pathologist who has worked in New Zealand for > 20 years. I have an interest in breast cancer and was the Principal Applicant in establishing the Christchurch Breast Cancer Register which went live in 2009 and is now part of the Breast Cancer Foundation National Register. I have been working with colleagues from He Taonga Tapu Cancer Society Tissue Bank, the University of Canterbury and University of Auckland to develop AI-based approaches to breast cancer diagnostics. We are developing algorithms for use by clinical pathology laboratories for application to breast cancer tissue samples with the aim to improve outcomes for breast cancer patients. We are being supported in our commercialisation journey by Kiwinet.
