Amanda is the Laboratory Director of IGENZ and has over 30 years experience in clinical laboratories both in New Zealand and overseas. In 2019 she was awarded a Service Excellence Award by the Human Genetics society of Australasia (HGSA) for outstanding service to the HGSA as well as for the significant contribution that she has made in the field of human genetics. She was recently awarded (November 2024) the Inaugural Partridge Laureate alongside Prof. Julian Paton for their research into hypertension. She is interested in the field of pharmacogenomics and in particular using genetics to guide treatment and improve outcomes.
